When you're behind the scenes, you get a pretty good bearing on the latter qualities. I still remember seeing Raul Ibanez and his young son exiting the Phillies' clubhouse a few years ago. He quietly and with a smile paused and made certain his boy said thank you and offered a proper goodbye to some of the ballclub's PR people who complimented him on the way out. Just a little thing but you remember it.
